Sledding!
We were lucky to be able to go sledding twice during our trip to the Polar Express. The first time was in Williams, at Oak Hill, before riding the Polar Express. The second time was the next morning, when several families (the Storks, Fenders and Nails) joined us from the Valley for a morning of sledding at Wing Mountain--during a huge snow storm! We all had a blast both times, but Daniel LOVED it. We could hardly drag him off of the hills. And, he always went to the very top of the steepest, longest hills and flew down as fast as he could. Daring Daniel, that's our boy!
The Polar Express!
On December 29, 2009, we took our 5th trip to the North Pole on the Polar Express! And, I think we all agree that it may have been the most fun yet! It was snowing and there was snow everywhere, which was awesome! And, our sweet cousin Aubrey was able to come along this year! All of the kids (and mom and dad, too!) loved eating cookies, sipping hot cocoa, singing Christmas carols and reading the story of the Polar Express. But, the best part of all was when Santa himself boarded the train and gave every child a special gift: a bell from his sleigh! It was a wonderful, magical time aboard the Polar Express!
The Grand Canyon Deer Farm!
One of the Keller Family's favorite places in Northern Arizona is the Grand Canyon Deer Farm near Williams Arizona. We try to visit the Deer Farm every time we go to the Polar Express. It's just so much fun to walk among the deer, petting them and feeding them. They are such beautiful, gentle animals! There are many other animals at the Deer Farm, too. There's a camel, wallabies, real reindeer, monkeys, pigs, donkeys and the coolest talking parrot ever! The Grand Canyon Deer Farm is a BLAST!!
Fun in Flagstaff!
On our way to the Polar Express, we stopped off in Flagstaff for some snow fun and lunch at McDonalds. Mom took the kids to her favorite snowball fighting place at NAU, right out in front of Allen Hall. And the kids all had a blast throwing snow at each other and having icicle-sword fights. Except for Noah, he really didn't know what to make of all the cold, white stuff!
