The Kellers go Camping!

The Kellers spent the weekend of April 1-3 camping in beautiful Oak Creek Canyon. We went with six other families (the Storks, the Nails, the Fenders, the Webbs, the Youngs and the Ponders). Altogether, there were 19 boys, one girl, six moms and seven dads. It was a blast! The kids had a great time hiking, playing in the creek (and falling in!), exploring, playing with sticks, roasting marshmallows, playing football and just being with their friends outside. The first night was COLD and we didn't know if we could stand another night, but we toughed it out and the second night was much better--we even got a good night's sleep! We can't wait for our next big camping trip, it's so much fun!!!

Ethan's Awesome Art: Jan.-Mar. 2011

Here is Ethan's Awesome Art!

Co-op Olympics!

On Thursday, March 24, Tapestry of the Desert hosted it's first ever Olympic Games. It was a part of our End of Unit Celebration for Year 1, Unit 3, which focused on Ancient Greece. The kids were super excited to compete against each other, and super excited that unlike the original Olympic games, the Co-op Olympics did not require their Olympians to compete naked! We had three events--all three were original to the Greek Olympics. Our events were: running races, discus throw and javelin throw. Ethan was the Gold Medalist for his running race, Benjamin took home two Bronze medals in discus and javelin. Daniel took home the Silver for running and the Silver for javelin. Way to go, Keller Boys and way to go, Olympians!

A Great Day at the Zoo!

On Wednesday, March 16, we headed to the zoo with the Fenders, Nails and Sorensens. It was a warm day and the zoo was busy, but that didn't stop us from having a wonderful time. We were able to see the Koalas before they are sent back to San Diego at the end of the month. They were cute, and very sleepy. The kids loved the giant tortoises, wallabies, zebras, elephants, flamingos and giraffes. We had lunch at the picnic pavilion, let the kids play at the giant treehouse and then went home to rest for the afternoon.

Sleeping Boys

Ethan and Noah fell asleep during our family read-aloud one night. We thought it was cute, so we took some pictures!
